Getting Television Service for Your New Home

One of the many decisions new homeowners make is what sort of service they want to get their television through. The choices, outside of sticking with what is available free, include cable or satellite. The decision between the two can be very difficult for someone who has always just gone with what was available of what a roommate chose.

In my time away from home I have owned a few different houses. When I first moved out I started with cable service through a local provider because that is what my parents had always had. Instead of sticking with basic service like they used I decided to get the digital service that was new at the time. I have to admit it was pretty good but it was also extremely expensive. There were no premium channels in my plan and I was still paying well over $50.00 per month.

So when I bought my first house I decided to drop the cable and go with Direct TV. I have stuck with satellite TV ever since. In the near decade that I have had this service I have very rarely experienced any issues. In fact the only real time I remember having an outage was after Hurricane Katrina swept through, and considering the fact that I had no electricity or bedroom ceiling it wasn't a surprise. Even then the service guys were out within a week. It only took a week because of all the chaos going on around us.

In my opinion having experienced both options, satellite is cheaper, easier, and offers better service.
